    Solo female traveller

I've heard that Egypt has a huge problem with sexual harassment and I'm wondering what precautions a solo female traveller should take. Does anyone have any suggestions or does anyone have any personal experiences of how they dealt with it?

I haven't had any experience as a female traveler in Egypt, but what you've heard is spot on. The best suggestion I have is that you find someone to buddy up with you. If anything goes wrong there and you are alone, you may just be arrested for all the wrong kinds of things like soliciting. Better safe than sorry.

As a woman, I have dared to go alone to places where not even men will dare, but I have not been to Egypt.

My overall advice when traveling alone is self-confidence, common sense and prevention. If you are going to a country best known due to sexual harassment, don't wear a sexy Tom Raider's Lara Croft outfit and prefer to look more like a tomboy and leave at home your femininity.

I agree that it would be a good ideal to travel in a group and not to veer from the group for large amounts of time while traveling. Better yet, it may be a better idea to travel someplace that aren't having high crime rates. No need to put yourself at risk.

I wouldn't recommend it to any woman. If there is a protest then law and order will go out of the window and 'anything goes'! There are reports of females being molested in public during these protests and no-one cares. My advice is the same as safari's which is to buddy up or join a package group tour. Egypt is a nice place to visit, but not worth putting yourself at risk for.

Traveling alone should be in appropriate hands and sources like new york niagara falls tour would be quality approach with the kind of outcome it does carry so far it does bring an impact which is there and helps us with getting the best out of it and moves ahead with the most reasonable manner generally.
