    France Vacation Activities

Ever since I was a child, I have always heard that France is a beautiful place. As an adult now, I am planning a vacation for a month, and I am seriously considering going to France. What are some of the best places I can go? Wat are the best activities for me to participate in?

Activities depend on where you go! If you are going to take a whole month then you should probably rent a car once in a while and travel all over the country. You'll probably be flying to Paris so start there, do a small trip to the north and then rent that car and drive to the south!

If it's your first time anywhere, always go for the classics first, to get them out of the way. Even if it sounds a little cliche, go see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Palace of Versailles. That way, you can really enjoy the beauty of the hidden places of France. Your American friends will also know what you're talking about, when you mention those places!

I personally would love to see the art and the architecture. I like the idea of renting a car as I hear the countryside is beautiful and there may be some interesting bed and breakfasts. If you are in the city first, ask your concierge at the Hotel and tell them your time frame and tell them you want to see not just "tourist" destinations, but ask about what the locals would recommend. I find people love to talk about the hidden gems that may be off the beaten path. Also consider the vineyards and again not main stream, but what those who know would recommend.

See that's right up my alley, as well. I'm all for the well knowns that everyone will expect in conversation, but hidden gems and lesser known beauty holds such a deeper interest for me. Also, I find it crucial to immerse into the culture as much as possible....the people, the traditions or activities, the food of course. Just go with whatever interests you!

Well my plan would be staying in Paris for at least a week. After that i would go and see what is all that fuss about the French Riviera and off course Saint Trope. If i get bored at the Riviera, there are the Alps. It depends when do you want to go, and how much money do you have. The Riviera is very expensive, but there is the International Film Festival in Cannes, Jazz festival in Nice, Music and Opera festival, aqua parks, the labyrinth of Spells and so on.

JessiFox and Justforus both share the same sentiments which I feel whenever I'm traveling to a country. Personally, I would look at the most popular "tourist" destinations first (probably like 1 or 2 such locations) then I would ask one of the locals what hidden treasures or gems they would recommend that I should visit such as a restaurant, museum, or a building with a interesting architectural details. This helps you to immerse in the culture more and understand the people of that specific country a little better.

When you say france, you will think of the Eiffel tower. It's one of the best tourist destinations in france. You can also see the Notre dame and many others. You can ride the tourist bus, for you to be able to see the different tourist spots. I suggest you try to research what to see and do in france. You can select activities that will suit on your personality.

But what if one prefers not go on a 'boring' tour bus? What are the alternatives of getting the most out of the vacation?

The country is very relatively and little populated. However we have little traffic and few factories and no pollution in this area.
