Cities To Be Visited During Germany Trip

On this trip to Europe i am planning to stay in Germany for at least 2 weeks and at least few of its cities. May be i will be visiting 2-3 different Metros of Germany. Please comment what are the most beautiful and worth to visit cities in Germany during June of the year. I will be entering Germany from Austria so Munich i believe is a must as it will be in the way no matter what other Germany cities i go to during my visit.

I have two options and one of them is that i visit Stuttgart and Cologne because both of these cities are not far away from each other. Other option is that i visit Berlin and Hamburg as both of them are near each other. Please comment on what i should do and also the must visit places in these cities which i should not be missing when during my visit to these German Cities.

What's not to be missed in Berlin?

Someday I hope to visit Berlin, mostly to see where my grandfather lived before he came to America. But what else shouldn't be missed? I speak a little German, but not fluently.

    Top Places In Berlin City

I had a short business trip to Berlin and due to limited time, I was only given a chance to see some of its attractions. In my short list, I enjoyed the Museum Island the most. Museum Island it is called because it gives venue to various museums. Tourists of all ages enjoy the place. What attracted me to that "island" also is its architecture. It was stunning even from afar. This is a place not to be missed when going to Berlin. Even if you have children with you, they will surely enjoy exploring the "island".

I have a friend that lives in Berlin and absolutely loves it. From what I understand this is essentially the New York of Germany and not to be missed. There is booming nightlife, great restaurants and tons of great sight seeing. It's a place I'd love to see along with Italy - so much great music has been inspired by Berlin as well; tons of history... good and bad obviously.

    Cologne Racing Circuit Nurburgring

I'd recommend a trip to the notorious racing circuit called the Nurburgring. It's about an hour or so south of Cologne and Cologne is well worth a visit as well.

I have a friend living in Northrhine Westphalia in Germany and I loved that 'state' when I visited! Definitely worthwhile is the Cologne Cathedral! After you have visited that, I also recommend touring a bit of cologne's city life. If you have the oppurtunity, you should go and watch a 'Erste Bundesliga' soccer match. The atmosphere is overwhelming and nothing compared to sports in USA.
But generally speaking, all of Germany has its nice spots. So it can also be just as nice in Berlin, which (as already mentioned) has a wonderful asset of museums.

I was in Cologne last month and it absolutely lovely - really friendly, cheap, vibrant and lots of things to do. Highlights for me included the cathedral (if you get a chance, go up the belfry when the bells are being rung for a service - it's the eeriest but most beautiful thing I've ever heard), a boat trip down the Rhine and visiting some of the local Brauhauses. Kolsch is the local beer, so you must try that - I don't even like beer that much but I gave it a go and was pleasntly surprised. There's lots of nice little eateries, cafés which sell cheap ice cream (as cheap as 1 euro for a cone!) and an amazing chain of bakeries called Kamps. An hour away is Koblenz, which is very picturesque and full of nice restaurants and boutiques.

I wish I'd been able to spend more time exploring the city but unfortunately I was there to perform so I spend quite a lot of time in rehearsals/concerts. Next time though!

Perfect Cities For Tourists In Germany

Berlin and Cologne are both wonderful places to visit. I love everything Berlin if I am honest, I went two years ago and didn't want to leave. There is just so much to do and see & the nightlife is brilliant.

Attractions In And New Major German Cities

If you like tourism in cities Cologne is a really wonderful place to visit, but if you go near Munich and enjoy the mountains and the lakes I would recommend that you visit a small town called Bad Reichenhall just 20Km away from Salzburg, it's a beautiful and peaceful place, ideal for swimming or just hiking in the mountains. Salzburg is also very beautiful and worth seeing, but it's already Austria.

Cologne A Must Visit City In Germany

Cologne is a pretty great city and the Cathedral there is beautiful. It's an absolute must see if you're in the city. I also really enjoyed Heidelberg. It's smaller so there's not as much to see as there is in places like berlin or Cologne, but there are definitely a few good sites. The castle is fun because it's situated up on a hill overlooking the city. It can be a bit of a hike so if you dislike climbing stairs I might recommend taking the tram. But if you're fine with those stairs, I would also suggest heading up the Philosophers way, where the German philosophers would often go to look out over the city and think and discuss philosophy, it's a beautiful sight up there.

I know that I'm a little late, but I would really suggest Friedrichshafen. It's on the Bodensee. Nearby, you can visit both the Affenberg, where you can feed popcorn to monkeys and the Insel Mainau, which has beautiful gardens.

Many good places can be seen in Germany. I personally like Cologne and Tier. Trier is a very historical place. Many Roman emperors favored residence in Trier including Constantine The great, the first Christian emperor. You can see the Basilica of Constantine, The Porta Nigra (black gate) it is the only one of the four gates that still stands. Another one is the Tier Cathedral, where the Holy robe is located. These are some of the places you can visit in Tier. Enjoy!

Germany has many attraction but now I have a plan to visit its Saarbrücken city. According to my aunt, It is the capital of the state of Saarland, Germany. Saarbrücken is Saarland's administrative, commercial and cultural centre. The city is situated next to the French border at the heart of the metropolitan area of Saarland.
