How is the Healthcare in Italy?

    Hello,

I was wondering how good the quality is of healthcare in Italy. I would love to take my two daughters there in the near future but I am always thinking the worst and would love to know if I can feel safe in case one of us needs care while touring the country. My parents went to France a few years ago and my father had a massive coronary. He was swifty operated on and two days later they were off touring Paris. They swear that the medical care they received was excellent so I would love to say the same about Italy.

    Thanks!

The excellent service of Healthcare in Italy

The healthcare in Italy is excellent. It is regarded as second best after France. Since your parents told you how good the service was and they have a personal experience so you need no other fact if the healthcare is good. Even if you face any emergency problems in Italy you will get good service and your problems will be solved soon. You need not to worry about taking you children to Italy regarding their health issues. |

    Have a safe trip.

Thanks so much! Their dad is Italian so we are looking forward to looking up their ancestry before we leave so that we can perhaps visit the areas that their ancestors lived.

The healthcare in Itally is excellent, but not as good as the one that is offered in the Scandinavian countries (like for example Denmark). In general it's quite good tho I specially love the fact all the italian citizens are offered universal health care. The healthcare system in Europe is excellent, but there are some countries that completely stand out! Denmark is one of them, because they even offer dental! Most european countries don't include dental in theur healthcare program, meaning you have to pay the full price if you want some dental care. This doesn't happen in Denmark.

I don't like the healthcare system they have in the Netherlands, by the way... it's unfair to pay a fee every month. In Norway they pay a single fee each year!

You won't run into any problems in Italy. I wouldn't say it's within the best in Europe but it certainly is more than adequate. You don't have to worry, if something happens then you will be taken care of.
