    Food

I have been told that Italian food is the best. What are some of the best restaurants I can go to get some of these dishes? I would love to try them out.

When I went to Italy we ate anywhere. We always try different pizza and pasta. I think restaurant will never be an issue if you want to go there. Almost all the restaurant I been to were good. I just advice you to eat different kind of pizza and pasta and don't worry about the restaurants, there are many of them.

That's one thing I'm looking forward to when we finally get to go to Italy- everyone says the food is a dream! I haven't heard many specifics brought up, though. It's my understanding that you almost can't go wrong .

That is what I love about eating in Italy. There are great restaurants, pizzerias, and cafes there. I've also heard that you can never go wrong when eating out in Italy. It's definitely a foodie's paradise, and I would love to go there.

If you are going to Rome then you need to go to their street pizzerias. What would a trip to Italy be without pizza right! Anyway a great tip I can give you is you have to look for one that has a forno a legna (wood-burning oven). This is the hallmark for a good wafer thin and crispy crust on your Roman pizza. Most of these Roman pizzerias are open from 8 pm to midnight. So don't go looking for them during lunch time. Have fun!

I know for sure, whether I walk a lot or not, it wont help me. I'm still gonna pack on the pounds when I finish with all the scrumptious food.

Thanks for the time tip. I was totally expecting a lunch pizza, but I guess I can make it a dinner affair when I get there. I'm salivating just thinking about all the food already. Hahahaha. I can hardly wait!!

    Re: Food

If you want restaurant names, than you should tell us where do you want go. Every region in Italy is famous for at least 2-3 food specialties. In Lombardy the risotto is very popular, in Tuscany the ribollita is a special dish, but vegetables are also very popular there. In Puglia you can eat sea food, and you can get olive from everywhere. Campania is where pizza was ''born'', off course now there are several types of pizzas in the world. So in Italy you are not going to have problems with the food, just try as many as you can.

I think I'll just bigger pants, because when I am through with all that food, I will need bigger pants. I can hardly wait to dig in. Nicole, I wonder if we will be vacationing the same time? Perhaps we will run into each other, because it sounds as if we will be eating our way through Italy.

    Re: Food

Just go with the flow, I'd avoid the fancy restaurants while I'm there if I were you. Because the biggest treasure can be found in the small restaurants mostly, specially the street ones. Focus on small cozy pizzerias, than never fails! Ow, also make sure to try the sweet bread they make over there, it's amazing! Enjoy most of your meals with some wine

    Re: Food

I firmly agree that Italian food is the best! Pasta is the way to go, and nowhere are they better than in Italy.
There is nothing as tasty as a maccheroni made from scratch!!!

    Re: Food

Don't forget about pizza You can't go to Italy and not to taste the pizza they make there! I'm guessing the pizza and the pasta there are out of this world! Nothing like the crappy pasta they make at ''Pizza Inn''. Sorry guys, but that pasta is kinda gross!!! The sauce is was too acid... I hope they change the recipe!
