    pachinko

When i was in tokyo years ago i saw so many of these machines around and hoards of people playing it. I could not get my head around it, and had no idea what the rules were. Something to do with little metal balls, kind of like pinball but with loads of them.

Did anyone play this game? How did it go?

If I have to be honest with you, I have never heard of this game before early this year and have not tried it myself.

However it was really surprising learn that the game first appeared in Japan around 1920 as you can read here, What Explains the Popularity of Japan's 'Pachinko' Parlors? Prof. Sung-Yoon Lee Weighs In | Tufts Fletcher School

I found further information on how the game works here, How the Game Works

Hope this help you a bit to understand the game.

Oh, I've heard of these too! These things just sound confusing but addicting at the same time. From what I understand there is some sort of gambling involved? I really do want to learn more about it as I would love to visit Japan and I hope Pachinko can be part of my Japanese experience
