    Food type in Mexico

Mexico is the thirteenth largest independent state in the world so obviously expectations would be high. Talking about the food , does the cuisine include every type of food which can be consumed by people of any religion? Obviously the main food items might not be suitable but would food be available for people of other religion like the Hindus etc.

From what I know Mexican cuisine uses as much vegetables as they do meat, so to answer your question, yes, the food in Mexico would be available for people of most, if not all religions. It varies by region too, so you get a part of Mexico that consumes more fish and shellfish, or another that consumes more lamb or pork, or poultry, etc. I am fascinated by Oaxacan food, it has a rich history and is so full of complex flavors. I hope one day to visit Mexico on a food tour.

Mexican cusine is one of the richest cusines out there, that's mostly because our cusine has totally adapted to the needs and tastes of all the foreigner communities that decided to settle down in Mexico since Mexico became a country. All these different cultures mixing together created a melting pot of tastes and aromas. There is something for everyone in Mexico, you can even find kosher food; there are many traditional mexican dishes that have been adapted to fulfil the kosher norms.

There are people of the most diverse backgrounds living in Mexico, so you are most likely to find everything you need to prepare the meals you were used to eat back home. It's all about adaptation and I think mexican people have done this very well.

Enchiladas. Enchiladas date back to Mayan times when people in the Valley of Mexico would eat corn tortillas wrapped around small fish. These days both corn and flour tortillas are used and are filled with meat, cheese, seafood, beans, vegetables or all of the above.
