    Chihuahua

Have any of you heard about this state that is located in the north of mexico? I've visited this place before, I went to a place named ''Creel'' and I must say one of the things that amazed me the most about this place is how blue the sky looked over there. I also loved the food, was like a mix between tex mex and traditional mexican food, my favorite food was ''montados'' and grilled beef/fish/chicken. I also enjoyed their baked potatoes The BBQ ribs they prepare over there... mmm! All that with a good beer.

This state is really big, and is filled with a lot interesting attractions. The capital of this state isn't very big, but it has some really interesting structures... as an amateur photographer, I really enjoyed taking pictures of their cathedral and la ''quinta gameros''. I also enjoyed visiting the mennonite camps

Just check this amazing video out! You can actually find those places there.

That's interesting. I've never heard of Chihuahua, except for the dog. Is that where the dog's name came from. It seems like an interesting place to visit. So many hidden attractions are here and I'm sure that not so many people know about them. Thanks Trellum.

You're welcome safar. Actually the name of this state/city was changed a while ago to chihuahua. It had nothing to do with the dog, but they do have a big statue of a chihuahua dog downtown It's very interesting. The original name of this city was: San Felipe el Real de Chihuahua (back in 1718), so as you can see the dog was named after the city after all

I visited Chihuahua on a roadtrip around the US (against the advice of everyone I knew). It was great. The surrounded areas are dry and mountainous so the drive in was beautiful. They have some great food there as well (Chihuahua cheese is amazing), and a beautiful canyon nearby. I would note that I went through hell at security, and that I was the only white person I was on my entire trip, as the drug wars going on there are mostly in that Northern area. The girl I stayed with (couchsurfing) was a lawyer who dealt with a lot of the cases involved in that and even she said it wasn't really a safe area. But I had a lovely time.

I know what you mean, I've heard a lot people who like to cross tru chihuahua... it can take them hours to pass tru security sometimes! That's one of the hardest parts of the trip if you ask me :P
