    Land of the Midnight Sun?

I read long ago that Norway is the "land of the midnight sun". What exactly does that mean can someone tell? I've also heard that Norway has 6 months of night and 6 months of day, is that true? Is there anyone who lives there from here?

It's not exactly a name for Norway, more for Lapland. (which is an area spanning across the northern areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland.) It's simply because during brief periods during the summer the sun never goes below the horizon. So effectively even at midnight the sun shining.

6 months of night and 6 months of day... Yeah sure back to Narnia. Obviously that is not possible.

Haha, that's what I thought too. It'd still be pretty cool to see the sun shining at midnight, I mean, how many of us get to see that? That's Narnia for us!

ohh it is a very odd feeling indeed. Feels especially strange when you wake up in the middle of the night and you look outside, you've got no idea what time it is since it might be 10am just as well as 2am.

Eudora13! It is right that Norway is the "land of the midnight sun". It is a small country of 4.5 million people. You can see four distinct seasons in this country. In northern Norway sun never takes a break. You can enjoy here a beautiful sunset.

I agree to Aaliyah. Yes it is the "land of the midnight sun". We can see the sunset in the morning, and also can see the sun rise in the night. it is possible that in the world there are so many places there has 6 months of night and 6 months of the day. I think Norway is one of them.

That would be fun experiencing the way everything in it and certainly tour to niagara falls from new jersey collects a lot for us to get the best throughout. Surely in my opinion the tracks it keeps is always supportive and getting the best of it is how it goes.
