Top 5 European countries to visit.

For someone who's never been to Europe and is planning on going for the first time, which are the countries that he or she should make it a point to visit? There's Spain, Italy, France, England, Switzerland..would you agree with these or are there others that score over them?

I think creating a top 5 would be hard, but mine would look pretty much like this: Norway, Finland, Spain, Greece and Holland. I picked Holland because I think that place is very colorful during the summer and spring. Plus all those tulips are so beautiful, the place is too small tho... so it can get a bit boring after a bit.

Holland sounds nice! I'm literally sick of living in cities so urban areas are a major turn off. A small place would be lovely to visit! The downside, though, is that I'd be missing out on the major areas that draw people from across the world. That's the sad thing, all the good places get commercialized too much.

That's the good thing about central Europe, you really don't need more than a long weekend in order to go to and visit another country for a change of scenery.

I would go on on a road tour starting on Spain, then driving to France, continue to Germany, turn back in Belgium and then crossing the EuroTunnel to the Great Britain.

This is my kind of ideal 5-countries tour, but if I could add three more countries, the tour would go from Spain to France, then Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium and conclude in the UK anyway

Road trip sounds like a really nice idea. That's the great thing about Europe, you can drive through all these countries and have a plethora of culture, cuisine, history successively. Gosh I envy people living in that continent! Haha. I've been to UK when I was really small, and somehow I'm not too keen on visiting in a hurry. The nordic and scandinavian countries sound interesting. I'm planning on mapping out a holiday, cheap and really inclusive. Thanks for the road trip idea! Let's see.

On a road trip like this I highly recommend stopping at the Smaller countries too. For example Andorra and Luxembourg would fit perfectly into your planned trip, not causing any detours but seeing two more countries. There isn't that much to do in Andorra however Luxembourg was amazing!

Yeah, Holland sounds like a great place too, for a country this place is really tiny and beautyful I can't believe I might be going there very soon. Too bad it'll be too cold to spot any tulips!

Re: Top 5 European countries to visit.

I'm from Europe and I've visited most European countries except for the Scandinavian ones (I'd love to visit them though).

    My top 5 would be:
    Italy
    Austria
    Greece
    Scotland
    France

I'm originally from Belgium, and although we're for many travellers a 'drive through' country, there are many beautiful cities you can visit like Ghent, Bruges and Brussels. We also have the most castles per square mile compared to the rest of the world

Spain is my least favourite European country, even Madrid or Barcelona didn't impress me.

From my viewpoint and experience of Europe travelling, London, Paris, Netherlands, Barcelona, and Tuscany are five well worth visiting cities

Could you tell us more about your preferences? Some countries are worth visiting because of their cultural aspects, while others have a lot to offer in terms of nature. Generally speaking, I would put France and Italy on my list of countries to visit while in Europe, just because both have such a rich history and culture. If you like beaches, I would add Portugal, one of the Greek Islands or/and Croatia to the list. The UK is overrated in my opinion, but if you have the financial means and time to go, why not? Germany is also worth a visit. Berlin has so much to offer both in terms of culture, as well as nightlife.

I would like to prefer the UK, because it is the best one to visit in the vacations. Have you ever been to the grand Brighton .UK have a wide range of places to be seen and many things to do. I have been visited there with my entire family in last vacations and spend a good time at the Brighton place. Here I enjoyed the parks, garden, forts and the one of the tourist famous monuments.

Nice Sharing Dairra! After reading your experience I wish I visit in Brighton Place on my next tour. I think it is very enjoyable in UK. Can you give more information about this place and nearest hotel to stay there?

Why not Alika! It is an idle place for the entire family that offers the visitors a complete entertainment. If you are planning to visit there then I will definitely suggest you do your visit one of the most famous and visited monuments"The royal chapel tower". This place also offers a celebration of music, dance, theater, circus, art, films, and what not.
Kipps backpacker is the best to stay near the Brighton. It is located in the 76, Grand parades, Brighton; BN29JA. It is situated in a fantastic position in the central Brighton and an idle location, because it opposite to the royal pavilion and close to the beach.
