Have you ever been to the Netherlands?

How mant of you have actually been to the Netherlands? So far I haven't been, but to answer my own questions... I'll be going there very very soon. To be more exact I'll be visiting that place in january, I'll be very close to Amsterdam, in a little village named ''Hoorn''. I mostly be going there because I want to visiy my in laws and my boyfriend's sister and her husband. I'd love to go see the tulips, but that will not be possinle at all! Since I'll be there during winter.

Have any of you ever been to the Netherlands?

Despite being cheap to get there from the UK I have never been. It is famous for being a liberal country so I guess it has a relaxed atmosphere. I think of tupils, windmills, clogs, and 'special' cafes, so I think it is worth a visit. I'm not keen on Amstel beer but there are probably others available.

It indeed is a liberal country! I was in the north of Holland quite recently and I must say I was impressed with Amsterdam, but the city is a bit more chaotic than I thought. I think we saw a bit of the red district, but I wasn't overly impressed by it. I was also in Hoorn, more specifically in Blokker, not much too see in that place. If you go there make sure to avoid the small towns and villages! They are boooooooooring as heck!

I have been to the Netherlands a few times and loved it! Very friendly and fun locals, great food, great vibe Would love to go again. When I went there I didn't get to see the Anne Frank Museum, as it was too crowded. So I would love to go back to visit it. I did a boat tour of Amsterdam which was really informative.

I loved Amsterdam. Only issue we had is the rain. We visited during December and everything was great: sights, food, cool bars museums except the weather. It was constantly raining.

One thing I remember is that people in Amsterdam ride bycicles even when it rains.

Amsterdam is the city of bycicles.
