Thread: Advice for life in Ireland

It seems Ireland doesn't have it's own forum, so I'll post this here. I'm moving to Ireland in a little over a month to begin a Master of Fine Arts Program in Dublin. I've spent quite a bit of time in Dublin before but now that I'll be living there I was wondering if anyone had any advice? Are there any customs I should get used to? Are there any places I should visit outside of Dublin? Are there any specific restaurants, pubs, or other attractions in Dublin that I should frequent?

I've always wanted to move there for the scenery and the booze. I'd love to walk around and see all of the abandoned castles on the mountains and then get drunk in them. Ride around on a little scooter or jeep wrangler, oh yea, I'd have a blast. My dad was stationed there when he was in the Army and he has a ton of pictures of the castles and geography.

I lived in Dublin last summer and it's amazing there. I adore the people and I can't wait to go back. I didn't get to see may of the castles because I didn't get to travel around much due to time and budget constraints, but I'll definitely put some castles high on my list of things I want to do this time around now that I'll have more of a chance.
