Buying a gift for my boyfriend's family

Hi everyone! I really need an advice or better said... some gift suggestions? I'm meeting my boyfriend's family next year, they're all dutch. His mom and dad are together, he also has an older sister. I'm not familiar with dutch traditions or anything like that, so I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out. I think buying a gift for everyone is a good idea... but I'm not sure what I could buy for them! Please feel free to suggest me some gift ideas, specially things that you think dutch people like

I think you are looking at this from the wrong point of view. Instead of giving them something that they like and or expect, I'd bring something that is very specific to your home country. Local foods/drinks/souvenir things. Something that will always remind them of you, something they could never find in The Netherlands.

If you do it like this then asking your friends and family would be a good idea since they are a lot more familiar with the local things than we are.

I was actually thinking of filling a very cute basket with very traditional candies (we've many), but I wasn't sure if they'd like some of those candies. Mostly because some of them are spicy and sweet at the same time. European people don't seem to be used to the kind of stuff we have over here. I guess I'll leave those out, which is bad because those candies are the most traditional ones. Seeing I don't have a lot options, I think the basket filled with candy would be a great idea.

I think the best gifts you can give are those that can actually be enjoyed by the person, rather than those you can just look at, lol. If it was me I'd be happy with a box of chocolates, to be honest
