You can try Ibiza, there are several nice beaches and hotels which are nice and quiet. Avoiding the public beaches that are usually filled by college students who seem to be ever high on testosterone is a good idea, lol.

Ibiza is known for its clubs and beaches, which if that is your scene, and if you can afford it, I would say go for it! However, there are several smaller yet beautiful cities in Spain which I would highly recommend and usually don't come with such a high price tag. The first would be Avila. Located in the province of castilla y leon, it is a small city with a beautiful , huge wall that surrounds the city center. However this could be a day trip from wherever you are staying, especially if you find yourself having time to waste in madrid. I would also consider going to see Toledo and Salamanca. These again make good day trips from Madrid. Salamanca is a college town, if you will, but very pretty. In the south of Spain, I would recommend staying in Sevilla and taking trips to Granada ( to visit the Alhambra, a must see) Cordoba ( I have only heard great thinga, never been) and Cadiz. As for when to go, if you have never been in Spain during semana santa ( holy week) I would highly recommend it!

My favourite city so far is Alicante. The weather is amazing, the beaches are great, the people are friendly and most of all I found it to be quite cheap. I think I payed 40 (or was it 60) euros per night for a 2 person hotel room which was good quality and literally less than 50m from the beach.

The town does get quite busy during the nighttime so you won't get bored if you want to have a night out but during the day it's quite calm and you can relax and enjoy the sun.

Ibiza Spain To Many Things To Do

It would definitely have to be Ibiza for me. I love the place, I went for my honeymoon . I would go every year if I could, I love the beaches and the nightlife. If you aren't one for parties then San Antonio Bay is lovely. Ibiza has plenty to see and do.

Cities To Visit In Spain For A Tourist

I'd go to Andalusia That place is filled with a lot historic building that date back to the time when muslims and sephardic jews used to live there (before the expulsion in 1492). This place is filled of the best food, and best historical places in all Spain. There are some really old mosques that are worth seeing there, many old buildings and houses flatter a distinctively arabian architecture.

Not really i prefer quiet next to the pool scenes like nice hotels etc not the clubbing type even though i have been a few times i don't enjoy getting drunk and people just like falling over i am a fun guy just not that type of fun, my friends kids will be coming most probably so what would people say about lanzarote ? any good?

Why not get to Madrid, go to the train station and just pick a train to somewhere you've never been and know nothing about and just go there and see what it's like? Everywhere has its charm, it just needs someone to discover it, and places the tourist industry hasn't raped the soul out of can never be bad.

Malaga! It has a good variety from the tourist hotspots on the Costa del Sol, the cultural center in the wonderful capital (Picasso museum, Roman and Moorish ruins, beautiful Cathedral), and the gorgeous white towns and natural sights like Nerja.

Additionally, since it's a travel hub you can easily get from the Malaga airport to lots of other places, or take the train/bus for the day to Granada or a bunch of other interesting spots.

If your looking for somewhere to chill but enjoy time in the sun around the pool why not try Tenerife or one of the other Canary Islands. Although a four hour flight from the UK. As opposed to a two hour flight to the Balearics. Thousands of Brits make the journey every year for a week or two to break up the UK winter.
A genuine winter sunshine destination the daytime temperatures can still be up in the 80s to allow you to achieve that round-the-pool tan with cooler nights that allow you to wander round in shirt or summer dress.
Accomodation is varied and good quality from self-catering to all-inclusive and you will be stuck for choice if your thing is trips, sightseeing, or cultural visits.
An Island of enormous versatility Tenerife should be on the itinary of all lovers of things Spanish.

Well you are saying that you have been to many places in Spain. Maybe you could tell us which places did you enjoy the best, than we could suggest other similar places. Barcelona in my opinion is a must see. If you visited Barcelona than maybe you can find some nice little towns in the Andalusia region, or in the Murcia region.

Oh yeah, Murcia is very nice as well! Good weather out there and a beautiful cathedral.

But I agree, a little more information could help us guide you

I would be interested in seeing Gibraltar. Now, I know that technically Gibraltar is a British territory, but it's literally right next to Spain. I wouldn't mind going to Spain and then taking a day trip to Gibraltar. I just don't know how easy or difficult that would be. It seems that La Linea, which is right next to Gibraltar, has some interesting tourist attractions as well.

If you ask some Spaniards, especially old school ones, they might say Gibraltar is still Spanish!

But it is not difficult at all to go to Gibraltar, there is a border crossing, and the line is long, but it's a popular destination. La Linea has a reputation as a bit of a dump, tbh, or it did when I was little. But Cadiz and Malaga have a lot of nice towns and cities within a couple of hours drive.

The Costa del Sol is an hour away in Malaga; Estepona, Marbella, and all that.

Cadiz has a coast on the Atlantic and another on the Mediterranean, and is full of lovely towns that are less touristy than the ones over in Malaga.

I recommend visiting Toledo. I was in Madrid for 4 days two years ago. I decided to venture out of the capital, and it was the best decision I made on that holiday If you like picturesque towns with cobble stoned small streets, then Toledo is the village for you.
You can get there in 30 min from Madrid on the high speed train. It's a perfect day trip from Madrid.

Nice information Ada! In my opinion the best place to visit Spain in Toledo. It is located in central Spain. It has many attraction like Architectural building, religious state, most attractive Bridge and Museum. I have visited this city a couple of month ago before my niagara falls tour.

alicke! Would you like to share your experience at the Niagra Fall attraction. In these days my uncle is planning to visit Canada and see the water fall. Let me know what are things to do here and during your travel which spot you will refer to my uncle. Do suggest an affordable accommodation near the attraction. I am waiting for your quick reply.

Spain is a beautiful country, every region has its own beauty and glamour but i like San Sebastian which is the capital of Gipuzko province. It is in north spain off the coast of the Bay of Biscay. I love this place because of its excellent beaches and culinary tradition.
