    In-Flight WiFi

Now a days, taking a flight, watching a movie, or going to church some of the only situations that "socially require" you to turn off you smart-phones or tablets. We'll that list is about to get shorter since the air travel industry isadopting in-flight Wi-Fi. Some companies charge extra, some are free, its all depends on the flight and the airline. This new travel industry trend is quickly becoming an international standard, Air China, for example, recently started offering Free Wi-Fi for it's passengers. This will defiantly make flights more bearable, being able to work, entertain yourself and connect with loved ones while on a flight. Travel Industry news states they are doing this solely to meet customer demand. What are your thoughts on this?

The news of free WiFi in flights.

    Dear Alfonso,

This surely is an incredible step taken by the companies to supply the passengers with free wifi . It not only helps the people to pass their time but also might be beneficial for several purposes. Everybody taking a flight would love to get the facility of Wifi which is free. Some people would find it inappropriate to waste money on buying in-flight Wifi. This is definitely a good facility provided by the companies.

Thats amazing, this will make my business trips much more enjoyable. It must cost the Airlines a pretty penny to offer this service, but its extremely nice of them to do so. I agree that paying for WiFi is outrageous, it costs the Airlines a hefty penny, but the prices they charge for WiFi is absurd at times! Big ups to the Airlines who continue to offer the WiFi for free.

This is definitely a welcome change. I would never pay for in-flight wifi... except if it was for an intercontinental flight and wasn't that expensive. Normally I just fly within Europe so I can definitely stay 3h in a plane without using the internet.

Today, Wi-Fi is starting to look like a standard amenity. Imagine staying in a hotel that doesn't offer wi-fi in this day in age! How about working in an office with no internet? I think eventually, all airlines will eventually offer free wireless internet as a air travel standard.

Here's a video about what their doing to make all this possible.

I've not often been on a flight that's less than 6 hours so I'd defiantly pay a small fee for wifi. I haven't been on an airline that offers it yet though.

I agree 100%. Nowadays customers want a wifi connection pretty much everywhere. It will take some time but I hope that some day free wifi will be a standard in air travel, however I think we are quite far from that for the moment.

What I see is in flight wifi being an additional service (with a small fee) for the time being.

This is the best thing that the airline industry has done for us in a long time. Sometimes you end up repeating movies and listening to the radio stations over and over again if you are on a long flight, or if you are flying with the same airline before they change their entertainment program. Wi-Fi changes everything because everyone will now be permanently entertained.

Maybe I'm unusual but I don't really care if they offer Wifi on planes and I'd definitely never pay for it. I do just fine with a good old fashioned book (or kindle) and some much needed time to catch up on sleep

    Re: In-Flight WiFi

I am waiting for the days when in-flight wifi becomes a free standard for every flight. I am not interested in paying the ridiculously high prices that they often charge, but if they were to include it for free, I would really like that.

I haven't known anyone that's been on a wifi flight yet, I haven't myself either. I guess not all airlines have it.

Yeah , There is facility of Wi-Fi in flight, but they dont allow us to get wi-fi on. Because it puts bad effects on signals of plane.

Yes for this era its more like something compulsory and also understanding a lot of factors with it is the way how it all stays for us. Certainly maximum is there for us and that is the thing which comes around us sensibly. For me at the moment its necessary to have those thousand islands boat tour sources that provides these things and one of those is and they do provide the maximum facilities.
