Konya has a religious importance. It is the home of Sufi Dervishes and Mevlana, the world famous Turkish philosopher and poet. You can visit the mosques and museums. Also you will be able to see the Sema, a ceremony which practiced by Sufi Dervishes as a way to spritual growth. The best way to add it to your schedule between Cappadocia and Pamukkale. It is about 3 hours drive from Goreme and 7 hours from Pamukkale. You can rent a car or arrange a private transfer from both cities. Antalya is only 3 hours from Konya and another good place to visit. So you can send a message to me if you need help to add it to your schedule.

ayferselci Very informative post that you have shared with us. I have a plan to go there but after reading your post I think I will enjoy my tour easily because your post is very helpful to know about it and I would like to arrange a private transport to enjoy that tour wholly.

think any bus company departing from Konya's otogar would have similar (high) standard. I never met with old or uncomfortable intercity buses in Turkey. There are buses going from Konya to Aksaray - Nevsehir - Kayseri every one hour or so. From the otogar in Nevsehir, take a city bus to the center and a dolmus from the center to Goreme.

See here: International Car Transport for my very recent trip report from Konya and Cappadocia.

Konya is not a familiar region for me so, I also have no idea about the transport system of this region. After reading the above discussion, I think balilumber has sufficient information about the transporttion of this region and has share useful post with us.
