The only thing i can think of that is good about Bristol is the university. It used to be among the best in the country but it has slipped recently down the table of best universities in the UK. You would be better of going to Bath which has more interesting sites, unless you have friends/relatives in Bristol which would make it worth while.

Like many UK cities it has a ton of history, so if you're into that you can just enjoy yourself wandering around and checking out the cathedral, Cabot tower and the like. There should be a tourist visitor center with handy guides to the major historical sites and basic stuff like the zoo and whatnot.

If you're more into modernity, Bristol has had a great music scene since about the 70s and more recently trip-hop got its start there. There's a bunch of great graffiti art projects and the like, you'd want to do a little research on galleries and clubs to suit your tastes.

Bristol is the city of bridges, balloons, boats, bikes, Brunel and Banksy. Yes we like the letter ‘b’ here. We also like spoiling you for choice, as there isn't just one great thing about Bristol, there are lots and lots! Start poking around and figure out what to put at the top of your list.

From spices and tobacco to sugar and slaves, Bristol was built on the trade that its docks and floating harbour enabled. Thankfully, the city’s economy is based more on service than servitude these days, but the waterways around which Bristol is built remain one of its greatest assets. There are numerous ways for you to hop on a boat and see the city from the waterline. Bristol Ferry Boats operate waterbus services 364 days a year for locals and tourists alike, letting you jump on and off as you chose, from Temple Meads to the SS Great Britain. Bristol Packet Boats also offer guided tours around the harbour and even out into the Avon Gorge.

I have never been to Bristol in my life. But since I am a businessman of road maps and travel videos of all around the world, I get some ideas about it. You can go to Ashton Court Estate and Harbour boat trips with your wife. You will enjoy your stay in Bristol for sure. Check out this Bristol Road Map - maps2anywhere.com/bristol-kingsport-and-sullivan-county-virginia-america.html. I'm sure you will find it very useful in your journey.
