A state you'd never go to?

I think we all have a state or set of states we would never think of visiting for several different reasons. For me that state would be New Mexico and Arizona, I was born in Texas and I'm used to the heat, but those two places take it to a totally different level! I also find New Mexico so uninteresting (no offence intended) I was there to visit a relative, and I didn't find or see something interesting about it. Plus it's so hot!!! Texas is hot, but New Mexico seems to be far faaar worse! This is just my personal opinion tho

I agree. New Mexico and Arizona are the states in which I would not consider going because I don't find any interesting places that attract me. I have heard Arizona is very hot during the summertime and not too cold during wintertime. I am not a big fan of hot weather.

I love New Mexico! It's hot, but you don't feel it because it's not humid. I have a fear of California because of the earthquakes. I fear Wyoming a lot too. Anything close to Yellowstone, actually. I guess I read too much of Scientific stuff. :/

I don't think there's any states that I would not go to. In fact, I would really enjoy to visit and get to know every single state in the US, even if that is very hard to manage. Of course there are some states that I am more interested in visiting than others, but saying there is a state I would never go to is extreme and I wouldn't do that.

I am in California but I find the beauty of the desert in Arizona and New Mexico so striking. There is also the Grand Canyon, Sedona and I just love the feel of Tucson, Arizona. New Mexico has some of the most beautiful "fire sunsets" and so many love the art, culture and relaxation of Sante Fe, New Mexico. Guess we all have our opinions.

There is no US state I have not found to be fun to visit or have found some particularly stupendous scenery.

I'm not very interested in the Dakotas or Montana, but that's not to say that I absolutely wouldn't go there or couldn't find hidden gems that would surprise me. They're just towards to the bottom of my US travel list.

I agree, I'd like to go to every state. I find each one interesting and beautiful in its own way.

Count me in as someone who would never travel to these two states and particularly not really interested in Arizona that has proven to be on of the most intolerant and racists states.

Perhaps another state I would not like to be is Alaska, but because is the opposite to the above states when it comes to weather; too cold! brrr...

Same reason here! I'd not like to visit Arizona for the same reason... I born in Texas, but I was raised in Mexico. I dislike the way they treat people there... they were stopping people basing thenselves on the looks only. How sad is that! I know not all the people in Arizona are racist, but sadly they have a really nasty sheriff!

I think Montana is a beautiful place I mean that place has some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen... some places make for such a great scenes! I personally love the scenery the states in the north flaunt. If I had to visit a state far in the north I'd definitely pick Michigan. They have the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Everything looks so green and alive over there and the winters over there are real winters.

You must be talking about the super volcano in Yellostone, but don't let that stop you from visiting that place. Because if that super volcano erups we'll all be gone in matter of hours, I read about that a long time ago, so don't worry about it! If it happens it will happen and it will inmediately affect everyone living in the american continent. Plus, don't worry, a lot geologists are keeping track of its activity, I hope they let us know. By the way this super volcano eruprted 640,000 years ago and is supposed to erupt every 600,000 years. I should stop reading this kind of things... I know!

Arizona sounds a lot like the place where I'm living in... isn't easy to visit a place like that, I know because I live in a place that is a bit less hot :P I have such a hard time during the hot season, if I could move to a colder place I would. So visiting Arizona wouldn't be my ideal vacation! The US is so big, and there are far nicer places to visit! A lot people talk about visiting every state, but I doubt anyone will have the chance to do that... and if they do they'll never get to explore well each state. So why not be more realistic and focus on the states that really interest us?

This is true, and I remember that when all the scandal resulting from the arbitrariness of such nefarious individual began, many local businesses (including GoDaddy) started a campaign to show off they are happy to provide services to Spanish speaking locals, immigrants and visitors. In fact renowned people like Linda Ronstadt (born in this state but of Mexican ancestry) are supporting campaigns to fight that racist shadow of shade on Arizona for all this.

Another place that would like to go is Miami. I think Florida is a great state to visit, but this particular city also has a shadow of shame about their political view on Cuban affairs that should not be longer their business if they are American citizens.

Yeah, things got pretty ugly over there some years ago. Are things still the same over there? Some years ago everyone seemed to be scared of going out, that sheriff even improvised ''camps'' for the people they were going to deport. In an interview one of them said it was so hot over there... not surprising, since, if I recall right, it was outdoors! This sheriff takes crazy to the next level!

There are no states that I would not travel to. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some states that have more to offer than others. My husband and I have made it our goal to take our children to all 50 states by the time our son goes to college. We have made it to 11 so far. Yes, there are states that we look forward to taking them to more than others, but I am sure every state has something to offer its visitors!

I am doing the same. I plan on traveling to every state, and I would probably travel to one state each year or so. I hope I can make it because I plan on travel to all states within 52 years.

Woah, that's a really good plan!! I hope you see is fullfilled! Because 52 years sounds like a lot, so you better start doing it now.

Re: A state you'd never go to?

I guess it'd be nice to say I've been to all the states, but some simply are not that interesting to me, and I'll probably never visit them, nor have a reason to want to. Alaska is a state I could care less about, and so are some of the more "southern" states, such as Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas. Michigan is also one of those "off" states for me. What's there? Not much that I know about. Maybe I'm wrong and I'll be missing out on something big by wanting to avoid these states, but if I am, whatever I'm missing isn't mentioned enough for me to feel I'm missing anything.

This is real, and I keep in mind that when all the scandal as a result of the arbitrariness of such dubious personal began, many small companies began an offer to demonstrate off they are satisfied to provide services to Language discussing residents, immigration and guests. In fact well known people like Betty Ronstadt are assisting strategies to battle that improper darkness of color on Phoenix for all this. Another place that would like to go is Las Vegas.

Yeah, it's nice they are doing something over there. If I'm not mistaken Linda Ronstadt is of mexican descent, it's so nice of her to try to protect those persons rights! It's good to know there are people out there who still care. But they have a really racist sherif, so no thanks.
