    Best place for surfing?

For a solo holiday, I'd like to do something exciting. I like surfing so I'd like suggestions for some of the best places for a surfer to visit and enjoy himself to the maximum, anywhere in the U.S. If it's close to my home-town, I'll strike it off the list but hit me with a few of them [ the suggestions].

I would say Hawaii is the best place for surfing. I remember one of my friends told me that he went surfing in Hawaii, which was an awesome destination for surfing because it is warm and there are a lot of people who surf during the summertime. I do not surf, however, I would pick Hawaii if I go.

Although I am not local (I live in the UK) but I would take a good guess from my friends in the US who have said that Hawaii is fantastic for surfing as well as California. If you wish to venture further, Newquay in Cornwall/England and Corralejo in Fuerteventura are meant to be hot spots for surfing too but since it's the US you're after. I would suggest the first 2 places I've mentioned.

Huntington Beach, U.S.A is the best place that I would recommend. Surrounding area has been given a Hollywood-like facelift, the wave curls just right and is easy to catch off of the large pier. The oft-surfed south side area often gets battered by high winds .

For a lot of surfers, the best spot to surf would be the one where wind, swell, direction, tides, and seafloor meet. Wind creates the quality of the surfing waves, Oahu has been a popular surfing destination and ranks at the top of every seasoned professionals list of great surfing spots.Santa Catarina, the ‘Florianopolis’ or capital of Brazil is not only the country’s most visited place, but is also known as a surfer’s playground due to the great consistency and huge variety of its waves.

California, North AmericaIf for some reason you want to surf in North America, the best choice is California. The happiest with what California has to offer, are the big wave hunters that go to places like the mountains of Maverickís during the huge winter swells. If you just want to enjoy a good wave but youíre not into big waves then why not choose a spot between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, itís great. Some other great places include Steamer Lane, Malibu and Rincon so donít miss them.

I have never tried surfing yet, (on my bucket list this summer!) but everyone who surfs says Santa Cruz, California is the best, apart from Hawaii. There's a long coastal stretch, so you'll be quite busy. The cut of the waves varies wildly, so youíll have to be versatile. They also said it's best to bring boards of different lengths, contours and rockers. Be ready for freezing temperatures!

Trellum...! I appreciate your sharing. New Smyrna is a beautiful beach of Florida. It offers a lot of nature spots to enjoy the views of nature beauty. I have been there about a year ago with my friends to enjoy the beauty of this amazing place. Visitors can have visit there and had great fun there through different activities like swimming, boating, hikking, kayaking and golf surfing.
