Good One or Two-Day Trips from SoCal?

My husband usually doesn't get a lot of time off work, but with the holiday season here, he has gotten a few extra days off. He's been bugging me about going somewhere (as a family), but I really don't know where we could go. Everything I think of seems a bit far, or just not the right thing to do, and I guess I just don't know the state well enough to know what else is close enough for such a short trip, or what I'd even be searching for. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good one or two-day trip from the SoCal area?

In Southern California I would recommend San Diego, it's a nice place with a good variety of things to see but not so big that it overwhelms (like the LA area can). Or a little higher up the coast Santa Barbara has a lot to offer, especially if you like natural beauty.

Have you experienced the touristy side of your own city? That's one of our favorite ways to spend a short break if we don't have the time or budget for a longer trip, taking in some of the things that people come to Michigan to see. In SoCal, you could head to Disney World, or to San Diego for the zoo and beaches, or up to San Francisco to Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz. Or maybe there is a museum in your area that you've never visited, or a state park that looks like fun? Sometimes I think it is harder to plan short trips in your own backyard than to plan major vacations because it is so easy to overlook all the things there are to do in your own area.

For SoCal, you can visit San Diego Zoo and the beach in that area. It will be a memorable holiday for the whole family. For a crazier experience you can all try Six Flags Magic Mountains. The rides there are intense! Or if you just want to relax, try going to Ventura Harbor. There's a lot of outdoor activities, whether it's surfing, swimming, or just enjoying the sun.

If you are in San Diego, Orange County or LA, why not consider the "Inland Empire". It is depending on where you start an hour to 3 hour ride to either Palm Springs with a lot of traditional touristy stuff or for a fun adventure, why not go to explore the high desert, such as Joshua Tree National Forest in 29 Palms, California or spend the night in Pioneertown, near Yucca Valley. There is horseback riding, or an old west hotel where you can star gaze, go ATV riding or simple tour the old town where the movie sets from Dale Evans Roy Roger shoots still exist. There is also some really interesting things like the Integretron in Landers, Gubler Orchids (a wonderful tour) and a great food and entertainment with bands is Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace. It is out of the way and out of this world (some come for an annual UFO convention).

I think for these kind of trips you need to put your primitive clothing such as denim jeans or maybe jacket at the end of the bag, soft as well as crumple types ought to be put on major. You need to different your level connected with clothing using report.

I would say Florida or Miami if you like beaches, then these are best but if you don't so florida is best one for you. I had great time there with my family and firends various times and loves to go there again and again. So what are your plans and where you are going to enjoy must share with us here.
