    Favorite National Park?

I've mentioned in a post before that Acadia National Park is one of my favorite places in the United States. What national parks do you prefer? What makes that park special to you? What activities did you participate in at that park?

I love Acadia because of the hiking, but also because the scenery is just breathtaking. It really is an amazingly beautiful place. I've been lucky enough to get to visit a lot of national parks and they all have something that is unique and beautiful. What's your favorite?

    Re: Favorite National Park?

I just made a post about this! Shenandoah is definitely my favorite of the ones I've visited. I'd love to explore more out west. I just love "big sky country" and I think it's so amazing the range of natural wonders we have here just within the continental United States.

    Best National Park In America?

My favorite National Park is the Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.
Known for its unusual geology, Bryce Canyon's jagged landscape is formed from millions of years of erosion. Alternating periods of frost and thaw carved an impressive collection of hoodoos and spire-shaped formations into the park. Relatively free from light pollution, Bryce Canyon is also popular with astronomy buffs. In June, the park hosts an annual four-day astronomy festival.

Re: Which Is Your Favorite National Park?

Glacier National Park in northern Montana is, hands down, my favorite National Park that I've visited. There is just no way to explain how absolutely gorgeous it is. It feels really wild, but has a paved road going through the entire park, east-to-west, called Going to the Sun road. If you are afraid of heights, this road might by a little scary, but it's totally safe and one of the most breathtaking drives you'll ever take.

When I first stayed there, I stayed at St. Mary's campground and went on a hike nearby. The steep, almost vertical, glacially sculpted mountainsides, lush green forests, and teal-blue colored water blue me away. It was one of the few experiences I've had in nature where tears actually came to my eyes. We also saw a moose on this hike!

I really can't recommend Glacier highly enough!

Is there a National Park anyone could recommend would be really nice to visit in the summer with the kids ages 7 and 17? Open to any and suggestions.

    Re: Favorite National Park?

The Great Smoky Mountains are full of childhood memories for me so I'd say that's my favorite for purely sentimental reasons. Most awe inspiring has to be the Grand Canyon, for pure beauty I'd go with Yellowstone. National parks are geared toward the outdoorsy types of activities but some of the lodges now have a little mre pampering and really great food!

    Re: Favorite National Park?

There are so many great national parks I can't really pick a favorite. I will however mention Big Bend National Park in Texas because I think most people haven't heard of it and it's one of the most unrated. It's not only beautiful, but it's right on the Mexican border, and you can actually walk across the Rio Grande into Mexico (I did this when I went... met a Mexican dude on the other side cooking with his family. He let me ride his horse.)

    It sounds beautiful!!

I'm not sure if I have a favorite national park. I've only been to a few. I guess out of the ones I have been to I'd have to say scottsbluff national park. I loved that you could see for miles once you got to the top of the bluffs. Pretty exciting when you grow up in the flattest part of the Midwest lol.

    Top US National Parks List

It's a tough choice for me as there are so many nice National parks in the US. Dinosaur National Park and Yellowstone National Park are probably on the top of my list from the one's I have visited. Dinosaur National Park was just really cool (I was a kid when I went) because of the fossils. Kids like dinosaurs and to see the fossils was really cool!

Yellowstone National Park was really neat too. I was a kid when I was there too so things may have changed since my visit, but the geisers and the hot springs are what I remember the most. Old Faithful was so reliable that you could set your watch to the geiser! The bottoms of the hot springs were beautiful but they were deadly hot.

I have not been there yet but Yosemite National Park is definitely on my list of parks to visit. I have watched so many documentaries on it and it is such a beautiful park with its amazing granite cliffs and the Giant Sequoia groves, not forgetting the breathtaking waterfalls too.

    Grand Canyon
In 2014, 4.8 million people witnessed the wonders of one of the largest canyons on Earth. A mile deep and up to 18 miles wide at spots, the Grand Canyon is so vast that even from the best vantage point only a fraction of its 277 miles can be seen.
