Question Favorite theme park (outside of FL)?

I live in Florida, so theme parks are second nature. But aside from Disneyland, I've never really been to any that are outside of FL. And really, I don't think that one counts -- it's nearly the same thing! I'd love to plan a vacation that involved at least one theme park day, but at the same time, I'm not really into huge roller coasters (whereas my boyfriend is, so parks with a mix are best).

What are some of the best theme parks you've been to?

Best Theme Park Which is Not In Florida State

Well I live in Georgia and really the only theme park we have is Six Flags Over Georgia. Its pretty fun but it gets expensive. They have a lot more to offer than roller coasters. There is a lot of water rides and a few fun water slides in the park. Its best to go around halloween because the whole park is decorated, they have people in costumes everywhere and they have decent rates around that time.

I like going to Dollywood which is in Tennessee. It is one of the more affordable parks and has a good mixture of rides and interactive shows. Luckily, the lines aren't usually long, not even on the most popular rides. The employees seem genuinely glad to be there and are always helpful. I also like that it isn't boiling hot in Tennessee which makes it easier to walk around and explore the park. Dollywood has something fun for folks of all ages!

I've actually been there once! I was maybe eight or so. All I really remember is lots of conversations about Dolly's well-endowed chest and making candles somewhere. I do love TN, though -- we went to Gatlinburg again a few years ago and it was touristy, but nice.

Ohh, that sounds fun! I love theme parks during Halloween. Around here, Busch Gardens & Universal Studios turn their parks into a nighttime haunted house for October, which is a blast. I've never been to a Six Flags before, but it looks like it'd be a lot of fun.

    Explore Theme Park Outside Florida

My favorite theme park outside of Florida is Great Adventures in New Jersey. I remember when I visited there some years ago, there was a new roller coaster ride called Medusa. It was the most terrifying ride I had been on to date. It was very fast and it had section that was almost at a ninety degree angle to the ground. It was so fun!!! :-))

The Six Flags in California is pretty great for older kids and adults....not so great with little ones. It has some awesome roller coasters, and a ton of rides, but I can't imagine trying to entertain a kid there for very long. It is geared towards teenagers and adults. I like the Superman, even though the ride itself isn't very long.

Ohio has a couple, Kings Island which is near Cincy and Cedar Lakes which is near Cleveland. Both are heavy on the thrill rides but do have a decent mix of shows, shopping and eating options. If you're taking kids with you then you'll want to check out the character appearance schedules which are always great for a few photo opps!

Good Theme Parks Which Are Not In Florida FL

It is a tough choice for me because we have some really cool amusement parks around here (I am in NJ.) We have the boardwalks on the beaches, Dorney Park which is a lot of fun but expensive, Six Flags Great Adventures, Hershey Park (you can take a tour to watch chocolate being made while there) and Knoebels. I like each one for different reasons, but Knoebels is cool because you do not pay to get in. You only pay for a bracelet for the rides so if you have family members who are not going on rides, you don't pay for them to get in. Other parks like Dorney Park has an admission fee for everybody.

Dorney Park is in Allentown, PA
Six Flags Great Adventure is in Jackson, NJ
Boardwalks that are popular for rides are in Wildwood, NJ and Seaside, NJ
Hershey Park is in Hershey, PA
    Knoebels is in Elysburg, PA

I'm from GA so my choices are limited, only one I can think of is Six flag. It's a nice experience but I really want to try some of the other ones that I hear so much in California, now that seems like the home of theme parks to me.

I like Dorney Park (Allentown, PA), and Knobels (Elysburg, PA). Dorney Park is just a sweet park, and Knobels is free to enter but you pay for each ride you want. It's a classic amusement park, but well done.

I've only ever been in theme parks in California, but aside from Universal and Disneyland, the best is Six Flags, for sure. I've been to the one close to San Francisco, and that was pretty good, they have great roller coasters. Now, if you don't like roller coasters, definitely not the place for you! They have some other nice stuff, but the roller coasters are what makes it really worth it!
Maybe other Six Flags parks have more varied rides, though.

Hershey Park wasn't bad, but I remember the factory tour as being pretty much the highlight of the day. I didn't think the rides were all that great.

Two of my favorite theme parks, aside from Walt Disney World, are Kings Island and Cedar Point. Both are located in Ohio and offer many thrill rides as well as rides for the kids. Kings Island has a large waterpark that is included with the daily admission. It's a nice break on a hot day. Cedar Point has the larger thrill rides of the two. Cedar Point is also located right on Lake Erie, so the views are amazing. They both offer a Fast Lane pass for a very expensive fee. However, the fee, in my opinion, is worth every single penny. You can just get right on a ride without waiting for hours at a time in the hot lines.

My favorite theme park outside of Florida would have to be Six Flags New England. It's only about an hour and a half away or less, so I've got to go there a couple of times. I absolutely loved it. Plus, if you go at certain times there's absolutely no wait...Whereas, no matter what time you go to Disney or Universal, there is going to be a line. So that's a huge plus. I'd say Water Country since it's so local, but someone I know got a bad staff infection from there so I'm steering clear!

Would be really nice if we get to experience such things and most importantly for me new york city niagara falls tour keeps it all helpful which is the way how it has to be in general.
