If You Could Visit Only One US City Which Will You Choose

If you could visit one US city for the first time, what city would that be? I have been to a few cities and tho some will pick New York City, I have been there many times so it isn't my choice. I would pick Las Vegas. I have heard there is so much to do there, but it wouldn't be a city I would go with the kids - at least not until they are adults.

I would love to see the casinos, some cool shows and the lights on the strip. It is a city that I can see myself having fun in.

So if you could pick one city to visit, which one would it be? And why did you pick that city?

    Best US City For Visitors

hmmm... If it is a first time visit, I would have to say Austin, TX. I hear great things about the food, culture and music scene. It's apparently the best, most modern city in Texas. I've been to El Paso, which is just like Mexico and Dallas was just alright, so I would really like to up my impressions of Texas.

Texas is one of the few states that I have not been to. I am not sure why I have not thought to visit there. It's a bit hot there isn't it? I am just imagining the heat as it is 91 with a heat index of 100 here in NJ and I am struggling with the heat here at the moment. But maybe in the cooler months it would be a place for the family to visit. What is there to do for tourists in the Austin area?

I've never been to United States before and the one city that I would definitely want to visit from a foreign tourist's perspective is New York City. It just seems full of energy and is always so bustling. It's so famous as the city that never sleeps and it also has great restaurants and attractions. Seeing it in movies make it look so desirable and I definitely want to visit New York City if I only had one place to visit.

NYC has a great appeal to tourists and there is a lot to do. I have been there many times in my life. It actually does sleep sort of as not a lot of things are open 24 hours anymore like they used to be many years ago. But I haven't been there in years so things may have changed again since

You would definitely have a lot of fun in NYC tho, especially if you are new to city life. Many shows to see, shops to shop in and you can get the best pizza there too.

For tourists and locals alike, there is a music festival that has some big names and it happens every March. I'm not sure of the name, but it was ranked it the top 5 of music festivals in the world by residentadvisor.net. Worth checking out!

New Orleans. In my opinion is has the most culture of any US city, as well as a vibrant nightlife with amazing music (jazz and blues predominantly) and amazing food. For travelers who like a little bit of "edge" in your travels, New Orleans is probably the place for you.

I would definitely pick Manhattan. It has everything - art, theatre, shopping, and that unmistakeable New York atmosphere. I've only been there a few times, but they've definitely been my favorite travel experiences. I think I'm going again in the spring and I cannot wait!

I would want to visit Chicago. I've been to New York City as well, and while I absolutely love it, I would rather choose somewhere that isn't as close to me since I'm right in Massachusetts (Only 3 hrs away from NYC). Chicago has a great music scene and some cool sites to see, so I'd definitely want to visit. I'd bring my dad because he loves Blues music. They have one of the largest and oldest Blues scenes out there! I'd also bring my boyfriend so he could see some of the cool sites as well.

Tho it gets busy for it, a great time to visit NYC is for the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Rockafeller Center. The tree is always beautiful and the Christmas Spectacular show can be a lot of fun - tho I am not sure how much the Christmas Spectacular costs now. I haven't been there for the tree lighting in years, but I do plan to take my girls one day. Whenever I walked around the city, I preferred it on cooler nights and to just walk around with a nice hot cup of coffee in hand so the tree lighting and shopping was perfect for me. Something about that was just always nice.

That is such a hard question! If someone told me that, first I would take a moment to cry. But then I would probably choose Los Angeles.... I've been there already, but I felt so awesome there, that if I could only ever visit one, I couldn't imagine not going back to LA. So there you go.

I think it's a toss-up between New Orleans and Chicago for me. But mostly my trips tend to take me in the North East, so I don't know when or if I'll get to either.

Those would both be great places to visit! My dad would love to visit those as well because both New Orleans and Chicago have great Blues scene and they have so much history in their culture(s). I would love to visit them as well. Chicago also has such a great art background which would also be amazing to get a sense of!

I would choose to visit New York city. This is a very popular destination for tourists in the US beside Las Vegas. I would love to visit New York city because I have never been there but its so lovely and fill with so many good things that I have to see it. I will visit soon one day. I have an urge to go there. I like to see the rivers and the empire state building and see how people talk and acts around there. There are so many businesses there that I really want to see what they have to offer to people. Who wouldn't want to visit New York. I would love to visit New York for the holiday and see the Times Square drop. It will be a fantastic experience. NYC is so dynamic and so smart. There are so many billionaire that lives there. I would love to live next to them. I want to go shopping in New York and eat at all of those cool culture restaurants in the downtown area. New York will wait for me. I know a lot of people from there too so I'm inclined to go.

Like many others, I would also choose NYC. I've never been before but I am desperate to go some day. I'm a complete culture vulture, so I would never get tired of all the museums, galleries, concerts, Broadway shows, operas etc. - provided I had endless amounts of money! I also love shopping in unique little boutiques and eating at cute, independent cafés, so I think the more bohemian neighbourhoods would be right up my street. I'd love to visit at Christmas as well - skating in Central Park under all the glittering lights would be breathtakingly beautiful.

New York City would be my first choice of cities to visit. There is such an array of things to do there. You can spend as little or as much as you want. Little Italy, China Town, Times Square, Central Park...so many things to see.
