    Favorite Mountain in the US

I'm from the US and am an avid mountain hiker, though most of my hiking has been confined to the Northeastern part, as that's where I live. Just wondering if anyone has a favorite mountain, or some recommendations for areas to go hiking...

I personally wouldn't hike it, but my favorite mountain is Pike's Peak in Colorado. It is just an amazing mountain! People do hike it, but I wouldn't. It is over 14,000 feet high, much taller then the mountains we have here in the Northeast - there is no way I could physically hike this huge mountain. We did Pike's Peak in the car and the view is stunning when you get to the top. You literally feel like you are on top of the world!

I don't have a favorite mountain, but I do really enjoy the Appalachian range. It's beautifully green in summer, and the changing foliage as well as the snow during the rest of the year is wonderful. I've hiked most of it, and in some cases have done several tours of certain areas.

I have only been on parts of the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in New York and it is beautiful. I haven't hiked that far on it tho so I didn't hike from one part to the next. Just at different parts of my life I was on different trails.

I like to take a drive to the Delaware Water Gap in the fall to see the foliage on the mountains. It is really a nice scenic route for a leisurely adventure in the fall.

    America's Mountain Cities

I'm from Las Vegas so we have a lot of mountains. We have the Great Canyon near us. We have tons of canyons or mountain in AZ and Utah near us. We have Mt. Charleston mountain here. Its one of our best or favorite for the locals. We could go to Mr. Charleston and go snow boarding so that's very fascinating. We could go hiking at Red rock mountain. The rocks are red and yes they're lovely. The Red Rock mountains are very famous in LV. Many people come from far away just to get a glimpse of this place. There are many hikers that camp out there for days. We have Lake Mead mountain which is also another one of my favorite in Boulder City. We have tons of big mountains right in boulder city and going until AZ. Its one of the most fascinating scenery I've seen in LV. You should check it out when you're in Vegas.

My vote goes to the Mount Magazine is the name commonly used for the tallest mountain in the state of Arkansas and is the site of Mount Magazine State Park. The mountain is a flat-topped plateau with a sandstone cap rimmed by precipitous rock cliffs. Two peaks are situated atop the plateau, Signal Hill, which is often identified as the tallest point in Arkansas, and Mossback Ridge, which reaches 2,700 feet. Magazine Mountain sits in the midst of the Ozark National Forest in the Arkansas River Valley.

Telluride, Colorado there isn’t a more charming notch in the Rocky Mountains than the perfect box canyon that Telluride inhabits. The nearby peaks’ proximity makes the town feel more like the Alps than another Colorado ski town. The closeness of the mountains also makes for some chilly mornings, as it can be past brunch hour by the time sunlight hits Colorado Avenue, Telluride’s main street. But that’s a small nit when it comes to one of the America’s best ski towns.
