The best place to see in Texas

I and my cousins would be flying to Texas soon. That is the reason i wanted to gather more information regarding Texas, the places i can go to over there, the hotels, the people etc etc. Thank you for any help?

I would appreciate if anyone narrates their experience in Texas.

What part of Texas? It is a huge state, so suggestions of what to do in west Texas aren't likely to do you much good if you're planning on being in the Houston area, or vice versa.

My favorite place in Texas is San Antonio, especially during a fiesta. There is Mexican Independence Day in September, the Day of the Dead at the beginning of November, and Las Posadas in December. The area of the Riverwalk is great for drinking, eating, or people watching. You can choose to float down the river, or just sit by the river and watch everything happen. One bad thing about San Antonio, when it rains, it usually pours, and there can be street flooding.

I totally and absolutely agree with everything that Lori said. San Antonio is the place to go when you're in Texas! I've seen the Riverwalk myself, and oh boy.. it's amazing! I specially love the christmas decorations during december. You can't miss this place, as lori said many mexican ''fiestas'' are celebrated You can also go to el paso, too, they have a really cool zoo, and this place is great for shopping!

Also, the hill country of Texas, just north of Austin is quite nice. If you like music, Austin has the great South by Southwest music festival. There are some great restaurants in and around Austin as well. There is a fabulous restaurant called Bacon...if you like bacon that is.

I agree the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas is spectacular. Not having been alive when he was assassination, I knew it was horrible, but I had no idea of the impact his killing had in the U.S. and the world in general. This museum shows that quite well.

When I visited Texas a few years ago, we visited San Antonio as well. The Alamo is a great stop, as well as The Natural Bridges Wildlife Ranch, which is a drive through Safari where you feed the animals.

In addition to the live music and duck tour in Austin, you can try and see the bat colony that lives under the congress avenue bridge. I also highly reccomended splurging on a meal at the Driscoll hotel. It's very expensive but it was amazing.

The bats are pretty cool. As the crow flies, San Antonio and Austin aren't that far apart, so you could combine these trips.

Lady Bird Lake is the beautiful lake of Texas. It is also famous and my favorite too. I love this place due to its water spots. I have been there many times of my life. I had great fun there and enjoyed its nature charming views. It is an ideal destination for nature's sightseeing lovers. The second largest state in the US, Texas - aka the "Lone Star State" - features a wealth of natural assets and cultural attractions. Geographically, its south central location offers a diversity of landscapes, from desert regions and cave systems to mountains, canyons, and the splendid coastal scenery along the Gulf of Mexico.
