Most hated/loved airport in the states?

Which airport is the one you dislike the most and why? Which one do you like the most? your reasons?

For me the airport that really makes me nervious is the Newark one! This airport is huge and it's almost impossible to find your gate on time, this is a huge problem if you have another connection flight to catch! That's why everytime I go there, I really dread it... I'm almost 100% sure I'll miss my flight!

The one I like the most is the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, this airport is a bit smaller than the one in Newark. The employees over here seem to be more kind! At least more kind that the ones in the Newark one. I feel way more relaxed over there, the atmosphere over there is just like that. It could be because I'm originally from Texas tho

I love small airports like the Santa Ana airport or the DCA airport in D.C. It is quick to get through security and people tend to be more helpful. I tend to dislike bigger airports like Dallas and New York

I hate the Logan airport. This one elevator always sticks for a minute and causes you to panic that it's stuck.

New York airports are a true nightmare! Ever been in Newark? I swear that place is a total nightmare, but not as bad as the airport in Paris... that one wins!

Where is that airport, if you don't mind me asking? I've never heard about it. Is it a big or small airport? Personally I like small airports, getting tru security isn't so hard The process is usually faster

It's the Boston, Massachusettes airport. It's a smaller one I think.

I remember having to go through security twice.

Yeah, going through security can be such a huge pain, even more if you have other flights to catch! Every time I travel tru the US I have the same problem, sometimes the lines are so loooong! I might be traveling to the Netherlands on january, so I'll have to catch at least two connection flights in the US before I can finally get to the Netherlands.

I'm pretty fond of SFO. It's well laid out and their little museum exhibits are usually quite interesting. They also have a pretty good selection of restaurants, though none of them are cheap!

For most hated, LAX hands down. Every time I've been there I've ended up massive stressed out running from terminal to terminal. I can't even imagine how it is for people navigating it who don't speak English.

It also seems much less friendly, staff-wise, than other US airports. Security is very hostile compared to other US airports.

They've all started to run together for me, I think. None comes to mind as especially worse than others. Orlando International can be a pain because of the overload of never-flown-before families on their way to/from Disney World who really tie up the security lines with not knowing the drill. Atlanta is huge which made connecting there a pain and is probably the reason I only fly non-stop now that I'm the one booking the flights. But both do have a lot to offer in terms of things to do. Washington National is just the opposite - tiny little airport, quick security, but a terrible place to end up with a long delay because there's nothing in the airport (though that experience was before smartphones and tablets - now I'd just check my e-mail or play Candy Crush ). Flint Bishop is a great place to fly from, small airport, short security lines, but I don't care for the limited hours on some of the airport amenities because when you're leaving at 7am the breakfast pickings are pretty slim.

I think there's good and bad to all of them, and it is all subject to change from one trip to the next based on any TSA edicts handed down in the meantime.

You summed up Orlando International perfectly. I used to fly out of there a lot when I lived in Daytona (as it was cheaper to than flying out of Daytona's airport). But it could be a painstaking process.

I find Atlanta's airport to be stressful. I often found myself in the predicament of having to travel from side of the airport all the way to the opposite side to make it to my next plane, which seemed to always be taking off in about 30 minutes. Not fun.

Funny you mention Bishop, as my family lives in Flint and I spend a lot of time there. Getting through the lines there are a total breeze. Same with Daytona's airport on the few times that I did fly out of it.

Atlanta. Hands down. It's horribly busy, security can take forever or 5 minutes, depending on when you go, and the parking stinks. Oh, and then there's the notoriously bad ATL traffic.

I've never had the pleasure to visit that one :P I hope I can do it one day tho, because it sounds wonderful! I don't doubt I will be doing that very soon tho; it looks like I might be traveling to Europe very often! What's your most hated airport? I think everyone has one!

The security agents at KCI are one stop short of dictators. Seriously. I fly there often, and every time I go there, they act like I'm a terrorist. Well...they treat everybody equally...EVERYONE'S a terrorist!

Oh, I mentioned LAX above. Hate, hate, hate it. I'm honestly not very fond of Heathrow either, but that may be more due to the weird labyrinthian feel and the suspicious immigration officers.

They tend to all bleed together for me, too. I've had surprisingly little trouble with BWI, LAX is no fun at all.

I really can't say I hate any airport. Have been through so many and they all have unique quirks about them. I think the airport I enjoy the most is Las Vegas, although large, the trams help with that, when you have checked in there is a lot to look at and do while you are waiting. I have been to JFK many times, and all I have ever seen is the hallway leaving the aircraft and the luggage pick up, not really sure if they have anything else.

LAX for me because it's so pack with people and erm forgot which airport was it ..Seattle I think? that airport has so so so many trams that I had to take after I landed there to make it to another flight. That was a lot of running around and it was no fun. I have always enjoyed Minneapolis.

Thanks for the warning! I hate airports like that! I was in a similar situation before, because my english wasn't really good some years ago... I was traveling alone and had 2 connection flights to catch across the US!
