Is 25 minutes to make a connecting flight actually doable?

So I'm much, much more used to international flights, then flying between states. Someone just ordered me a ticket through Southwest Airlines to come visit them, and I fly to Denver and then transfer to another flight to reach Chicago....but I only have 25 minutes in Denver. This seems really really bizarre to me. Usually for international flights you probably wouldn't even be able to board that close to take off, and I'm pretty sure that's not the case for national flights, but it still seems cutting it really close time-wise to disembark, find the correct gate and board the second plane.

So does this seem really super off to anyone else? I was told by a friend that airlines don't sell tickets usually that require connecting flights that you wouldn't have enough time to make but......again this is only 25 minutes and I'm uncertain that it's doable. What do you guys think?

Wow, that really is cutting it quite close, and you're going to have to run like heck if it happens to be at a further gate or different terminal (I can't quite remember how Denver is set up.). I mean, sometimes you luck out and get off the plane and into the airport and find out your next flight gate is right there, but I haven't had that happen too often.

There's also the possibility that the first flight wouldn't get in on time, or spend time taxiing even if it lands on time, and then you'd have even LESS time between flight 1 and flight 2. It would be pretty stressful, for sure.

If there's anyway you could get it changed, I'd definitely recommend it.

Depends on the airport, I haven't flown through Denver so you may want to check.

I flew through Iceland and was terrified because I had 30 minutes and my plane was 10 minutes late, but the gates were literally across the hall from each other. Like twenty feet.

It depends on the airport, but for me that is too short. It happened to me one time and I was running like crazy because we arrived really late because there was a storm at that time and I don't want to miss my connecting flight. When I arrived to the gate they are already boarding.

As kitkat said, it depends a lot on the airport, and also if you have to go tru security... Everytime I fly from my country to Houston, I have to go tru security... that can take hours (in a really bad day) or even minutes. I've missed so many flights thanks to that. I must say 25 minutes is too little time, but if you rush you might actually do it!

It does depend on the airport (size, security, etc.) but for the vast majority of them I'd say that's cutting it too close for comfort. I would be very nervous about a short timeline like that.

For Denver as the connection it is not as bad (as a connection in Chicago). If you feel you need help, like a cart to get you there, call to see if you can arrange it. Also check the physical distance between the gates. I have run from one end of Chicago O'hare to the other and I always thought they did it on purpose. If you plane runs late, that plus the hike makes 25 minutes very close.

I would want to do that because I don't want to rush things out. I usually allow at least 2 hours to make a connecting flight because that way I don't have to worry about missing a flight. I want to take the time because you never know what will happen at the airport. I believe it is ok for those who don't want to wait at the airport too long.

I've done it before but it's nerve wrecking and I try to avoid it at all costs and you will likely need to bolt out of your seat, run and push people out of your way (only sort of joking).
